
In 1994–1997 the major work was directed to the preparation of national terminology standards. GOST, ISO and prEN standards formed the basis of Lithuanian standards. The priority to terminology standards was given because economical, commercial and professional cooperation with foreign countries developed and Lithuanian specialists ought to know not ambiguous terms at least in German, English, French and Russian. There were prepared and adopted 15 national (LST) terminology standards and 1 standard of technical requirements. 5 parts of terminology and classification standard on silvics and forestry are prepared, other are under preparation.
In 1998–2010 the major work was directed to the translation of European standards and to adoption of EN standards as national ones (LST EN):
LST/TC 17 "Mediena" prepared for adoption national (LST) terminology and classification standards. These standards do not have the equivalent European standards.
LST/TC 17 “Mediena” prepared Lithuanian
Rules for Measurement and Determination of Volume of Round Timber and
Rules for Grading of Round Timber.
